TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. -- Electronics Mechanics Ian Haslam, left, and Kevin Yazdzik conduct electrical tests here on the Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T).
They are members of the depot's Tactical Satellite Equipment Branch, Communications Systems Directorate. Branch technicians rebuild, repair, overhaul, align, modify, test, install, and provide technical assistance and orientation training on the extremely high frequency, and advanced extremely high frequency SMART-T.
Employees ensure that the SMART-T is mechanically repaired and adjusted to meet original manufacturer specifications for fit, form and function. Terminals are then operationally tested in a secure area by sending and receiving data.
Tobyhanna Army Depot is a recognized leader in providing world-class logistics support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems across the Department of Defense. About 3,300 personnel are employed at Tobyhanna, which is located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania.
