Army Contracting Command and Expeditionary Contracting Command headquarters personnel and their families and friends gathered at Point Mallard Park, Decatur, Alabama for their annual organizational day activities.

More than 200 participants gathered for the festivities. During the day they competed in a variety of events to include a tug-of-war, volleyball, horseshoes, golf and more. At the end of the activities, the ACC Office of Chief Counsel accepted the commander's plaque for victories in volleyball and the water balloon race. The ACC Operations Group G-3 won the Tug-O-War contest, the ACC Command Group won the Beanbag Toss and the ACC Installations and Logistics G-4 - Horseshoes.

Betsy Worley, wife of Ed Worley, ACC Public and Congressional Affairs, won the Best Dessert Contest for her Blonde Brownies.

The team of Mark Smith, ACC Office of the Inspector General, and Belinda Gemme, ACC Resource Management G-8, won the two-person golf scramble with a score of 78.

"Organization Day activities are designed to generate esprit de corps and camaraderie within the workforce," said Lt. Col. William Johnson, ACC Operations G-3/5 and organization day project officer. "It is also a way for the command to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the workforce."

The day wasn't just about the workforce. Angela Sims, ACC/ECC Organization Day event coordinator, said there were lots of events for the younger visitors.

"We had a Hula-Hoop contest, sack races and water balloon races," Sims said. "We gave out medals to the children afterwards. I think, all in all, everyone had a really good time."
