Army Announces Force Structure Actions for Fort Bragg, N.C.

The Department of the Army announced Sept. 24 the 4th Psychological Operations Group, 1st Psychological Operations Battalion (Bn), 3d Psychological Operations Bn, 5th Psychological Operations Bn, 6th Psychological Operations Bn, 8th Psychological Operations Bn and the 9th Psychological Operations Bn will convert to a modular design at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. These actions will result in an increase of 938 military and zero civilian authorizations at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. All stationing actions will be completed by March 16, 2010.
The 4th Psychological Operations Group plans and conducts Theater Psychological Operations in support of the Regional Combatant Commander's campaign plan. Additionally, the units provide tactical psychological operations support to a U.S. Army Corps, U.S. Army Division, a Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Navy Carrier Task Group(s) (CTG), Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) and/or the Ranger Task Force (RTF). These stationing actions are part of integrated force structure changes that support the Army's transformation requirements.
