REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (July 24, 2014) -- U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians from the 744th EOD Company honed their life-saving and mission-enabling skills in a joint and interagency exercise here.

U.S. Army EOD technicians from the Fort Campbell, Kentucky-based 744th EOD Company trained for a variety of different scenarios together with federal, state and local law enforcement officials.

Spc. Michael Brown, Staff Sgt. Jarrod Snead, Sgt. Michael Rhyder, Staff Sgt. Marshall Newman and 1st Lt. John Bylen participated in the training exercise.

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Justice, the nation-wide exercise also included training sites in Washington, D.C., Seattle and Phoenix.

Bringing together personnel from the U.S. military, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and other agencies, the exercise was held to improve the interoperability of interagency emergency response units.

The 744th EOD Company is part of the 184th EOD Battalion, 52nd EOD Group, 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives).

As the U.S. Army's only formation that combats chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats, the 20th CBRNE Command not only trains to support American military operations around the globe but also works with U.S. government agencies to defend the homeland.

To stay ready for its high stakes global mission, 20th CBRNE trains with joint, interagency and allied partners.
