Warriors set for 2014 competition

Soldiers will compete in the 2014 Army Materiel Command's Best Warrior Competition. The contest will be at Rock Island, Ill., July 28-29. Competitors will face physical and mental challenges as they work through battle tasks and drills, a fitness test and mystery event. One Soldier and one noncommissioned officer will be named to compete at the Army level.
Competing this year are the following Soldiers:
Pfc. Davonta T. Colflesh is a transportation counselor assigned to the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade in Deagu, Korea. Colflesh is a native of Lufkin, Texas and has been in the Army for a year. He is trained as a Combat Lifesaver and is Combatives Level 1 qualified.
Spc. Alisha D. Bailey is a percussionist assigned to the Army Materiel Command band at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. She is a native of San Antonio, Texas. Bailey has been in the Army almost two years.
Spc. Marsha Diana Feightner is a cargo specialist with the 689th Rapid Port Opening Element at Joint Base Langley Eustis, Va. She is from Springdale, Ark., and has been in the Army three years.
Sgt. Gunnar G. Kallstrom is a guitarist assigned to the Army Materiel Command Band at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. He is a native of Ephrata, Wash. He has been in the Army seven years and has deployed to Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Carlos D. Gastelu is a cargo specialist with the 841st Transportation Battalion in Charleston, S.C. He is from Lima, Peru and has been in the Army for eight years. Gastelu has served in numerous deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. David W. Carter is an Electronic Warfare Intercept Strategic System Maintenance Repairer assigned to the Research Development and Engineering Command's Communications-Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. He is from Gustine, Calif., and is Information Security +, Combatives Level 1 and Combat Lifesaver qualified. Carter has been in the Arm six years and has deployed twice.
Staff Sgt. Kevin A. Hopson is a force protection noncommissioned officer assigned to the Army Sustainment Command at Rock Island, Ill. Hopson is from North Powder, Or., and has been in the Army eight years. He has served on numerous deployments.
Staff Sgt. Eliud Temblador is a contracting specialist assigned to the 729th Contracting Center, 413th Contracting Support Brigade at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Temblador is from Los Angeles, Calif. And has been I the Army for seven years. He has served on numerous deployments.
