VILSECK, Germany -- In an effort to sustain and improve relationships between German and Americans in healthcare, the Vilseck Army Health Clinic hosted a Provider Partnership Luncheon at the Vilseck Chapel, June 27.

The luncheon was attended by approximately 100 local German and American providers and staff from hospitals in Amberg, Weiden, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, and the U.S. Army Health Clinics in Vilseck and Grafenwoehr. In addition, the Burgermeisters from Vilseck and Edelsfeld attended.

The luncheon was hosted by the International SOS (TRICARE Overseas Program). Starting with opening remarks, the guests were then treated to a buffet of catered "Soul Food," including ribs, fried catfish, Southern Macaroni and Cheese, cole slaw and cornbread, among other American soul food favorites.

Recognitions and certificates of appreciation were presented to the medical directors and staff of the local area hospitals. International SOS representatives gave a presentation on the TRICARE Overseas Program, and the Vilseck Clinic commander, LTC Matthew Konopa, gave an overview of the Vilseck clinic and Army Medicine in Europe. The event concluded with a traditional Army cake-cutting and coffee, and time for the guests to continue their collaborations and discussions.
