JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO - Seven Soldiers from the 4th Sustainment Command (EXP) competed in a Joint Base San Antonio mini-triathlon on 15 June 2014.

The competition consisted of a 200 meter swim, five mile bike ride and a one mile run. Soldiers from the 4th ESC that competed are: Staff Sgt. Jerome McKinney, Staff Sgt. Antonio Espinoza, CW3 Denrick Mills, Capt Vernon Nauls, Maj Keri Molina, and PV2 Uriel Rangel, and Sgt. 1st Class Damon Hood.

Physical fitness has a direct impact on a Soldier's combat readiness. When Soldiers are physically fit, they are more likely to be more pleasurable and productive career and life.

Competitions such as this embodies the Army's demands on Soldiers to be physically fit in order to perform the many challenging tasks as well as perform tasks as a team.

The next JBSA Triathlon competition is 13 July 2014. The competition will consist of a 300 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride and 2 mile run.
