MIDDLETON, Conn. - The 344th Military Police Company of the U.S. Army Reserve held a change of command ceremony June 22 at the Major General Maurice Rose Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown, Conn.

Capt. Gregory Durant relinquished command to Capt. Eric Giles, a resident of Fishers Island, N.Y.

Durant, a Canton, Mass., resident, has commanded the 344th MP Co. for more than three years. During his tenure, the unit participated in Operation Guardian Justice at Fort Bliss, Texas. The unit also deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan, in 2013 where they were placed over a majority of the Afghan National Detention Center Facility at Parwan.

Giles comes to the 344th MP Co. from his previous assignment with the 382nd Military Police Battalion at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts, as the Law and Order Operations Officer.
