Opportunities abound for those summer days

FORT BENNING, Ga., (June 18, 2014) -- Summertime presents opportunities for travel, vacation and relaxation - which means it's time to find a fun location with discounts and good deals, while maintaining a budget.

WHERE TO START?

Make the Tickets and Travel office your first stop to check out what current deals are available.

"We get new deals, daily," said Maureen Collars, Tickets and Travel manager.

Several admission ticket deals available now are:

•The Walt Disney World four-day park hopper promotion in Orlando, Florida, granting access to all four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Tickets: $169 per person. Children 2 years old and younger are free. This deal ends Sept. 26 and must be used by Sept. 28.

•Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water located in Atlanta discounted admission tickets. Tickets for Six Flags: $40 in office, $63.59 at gate. Tickets for White Water: $37 in office, $42.39 at gate. Tickets to access both - a dual season pass: $65 in office, $74.19 at gate. This deal ends Nov. 2. Parking passes are sold at park.

•WonderWorks at Panama Beach, Florida. Tickets: Adult $20.75, child $16.75. No parking fee

•Springer Opera House in Columbus. Tickets: $15 to $25, prices vary depending on the show. Tickets can be emailed or picked up at the Springer Opera House.

Discounted admission tickets are available to active-duty military and Family members, retirees, veterans and DA civilians.

WANT TO STAY CLOSER TO HOME? TRY THESE:

•Outdoor Recreation will host an Extreme Zipline Tour from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. July 12 at Historic Banning Mills. The $85 entry fee includes transportation, lunch and five miles of sky bridges, tree platforms, towers, ziplines and more. Heights vary from 60-300 feet. Space is limited. •Outdoor Recreation will host a free kayaking clinic for ID card holders 12 and older at 5 p.m. July 23 at Kings Pond. Space is limited. To

•Family Fishing Night returns to Russ Park from 6-8 p.m. June 17. Though fishing at Russ Park is reserved for Family members 15 and younger, the free event is fun for the whole Family.
