VAIVE, Latvia -- Soldiers from 3rd Platoon, 500th Engineer Company, 15th Engineer Battalion, provided construction in support of the Zvannieki Alternative Family Home here.

The home is a privately owned charity that provides abused and impoverished children with a safe and loving family environment. The construction project included excavating and installing the concrete foundation for a chicken coop, digging a trench for a water utility line, and providing manual labor to stockpile firewood for the upcoming winter.
