Establishing a foundation
Soldiers from 1st Platoon are working in support of the Warrior Transition Unit in Rose Barracks. The construction includes a wooden pavilion built on a 30 by 18 foot concrete pad which will house the new TRX system designed to aid Soldiers in their physical fitness.

VILSECK, Germany -- Carpentry and masonry specialist Sgt. Deandre Gavin (left) 1st Platoon, 902nd Engineer Company, 15th Engineer Battalion, watches as the safety Noncommissioned Officer while the rest of the platoon levels a concrete pad with a screed in Rose Barracks, May 16.

The screed must be pushed back and forth and then forward several times across the pad in order to achieve an even level across the surface.
