The event, which will be held annually, was designed to promote espirit de corps and raise morale through friendly competition between Marines and Soldiers attending courses at the 2-13th Avn. Regt. The students who participated in the event had to do so on a voluntary basis and practiced on their own time.

While there is no prize other than bragging rights for the winning platoon, officials and participants considered the event a success. Those who participated learned close order drill skills and the value of teamwork on a junior troop level. Spectators had the opportunity to see service members perform at a high level. While this was a small-scale competition between two platoons of 15 individuals apiece, future plans may involve larger scale events with more troops represented.
