CAMP HUMPHREYS -- The Humphreys United Club provided several organizations and individuals of the Camp Humphreys community with needed monies, through grants and scholarships, during its monthly membership meeting, April 3, in the Community Activity Center.

The club distributed $20,000 during the meeting and with the more than $12,000 it distributed in the fall, has provided a total of $32,098 in the past year.

The United Club is a non-profit service organization for all ID cardholders, which was established in 1997. The primary function of the United Club is to manage the Painted Door Thrift Store and other programs and then return the profits to the community through welfare grants and scholarships.

"The United Club provides welfare grants in the fall and welfare grants and scholarships in the spring," said Michelle Skells, United Club president. "We use the proceeds from the Painted Door Thrift Store and other special events, such as the Holiday Bazaar and our annual Auction/Monte Carlo Night, to give back to the community. Kristine Rivers, our Welfare and Scholarship Chair this year, did a fantastic job guiding our committee to give to many deserving organizations and students.

"United Club is so thankful to the Camp Humphreys community and our volunteers for making this year a great success," she added. "We are very proud of how successful this year has been."
