Medal of Honor Nominee Kyle White Press Conference Transcript

By U.S. ArmyApril 25, 2014

Sgt. Adam Rose: Medal of Honor nominee former Army Sgt. Kyle White told reporters today that he was surprised to survive the ambush in Afghanistan that left six Americans dead, and several others including himself wounded.

Kyle White: It was probably after I was knocked out, I got some shrapnel on my face, "Okay, I'm not going to make it through this one." For the rest of the time, every task that I was doing was just…I wasn't really thinking about it. I just knew I had to get it done. But, I remember that thinking multiple times that day, "Well, I'm not going to make this one, so let's get this done."

Sgt. Adam Rose: Former Sgt. White will receive the Medal of Honor from Commander in Chief Barrack Obama, May 13th, in a ceremony at the White House.
