"I could not have asked for a better leader, a better Soldier and sergeant than Jimmy Carabello," he said. "He led with enthusiasm that was contagious across this installation and all activities …

"Command Sgt. Maj. Guden is exactly the kind of leader we need to build on the great work that Command Sgt. Maj. Carabello has accomplished."

Guden's military training and experience include all levels of the NCO Education System, including the Battle Staff NCO and First Sergeant Courses, Army Sergeants Major Academy and Ranger and Airborne Schools.

"We are continuing to work with our Noncommissioned Officer Academy to continue to make that course successful and relevant to the actual needs of the military right now and our relationship with those stationed on Kelley Hill," Guden said.

Carabello was Fort Benning's command sergeant major since June 2012.

His new assignment will be as the command sergeant major of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization at the Pentagon.

"As we head to new beginnings at JIEDDO, we will very much miss Fort Benning," Carabello said. "This is where it all started for me and I have so many memories of Fort Benning, and Fort Benning is what has made me what I am today. I sincerely make this promise to all of you as I head to JIEDDO. I will never leave any stone unturned in defeating the enemies of our country. …"
