• MILWAUKEE -- The 1st Infantry Division Rock Band from Fort Riley, Kan., was the opening act for the Harley-Davidson 105th anniversary celebration Aug. 28. During World War I, almost half of all Harley-Davidson motorcycles produced were sold for use by the U.S. military. At war's end, it is estimated that the Army used some 20,000 motorcycles in their efforts, most of which were Harley-Davidson. When World War II ended, Harley-Davidson had produced almost 90,000 WLA models for military use.
