FORT BENNING, Ga., (Feb. 2, 2014) -- The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is planning the fifth annual Toast of the Town: A symphony of flavors for March 14 at RiverMill Event Center.

Toast of the Town is the CSO's largest fundraiser and includes tastings of a variety of fine wines from all over the world, hand-crafted beers, Southern spirits and foods ranging from gourmet signature dishes to decadent chocolates.

"Synovus and CB&T are proud to partner with the Columbus Symphony on the 2014 Toast of the Town event that supports visiting guest artists, young musicians and music education opportunities which improve the quality of life in our community," said Kessel Stelling, chairman and CEO of Synovus.

Sara Ketcham, executive director of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra said she was thrilled about their sponsors.

"Through their support, we are not only able to bring Columbus the best tasting event of its kind in our region, we are able to continue to bring in guest artists to perform with our orchestra and expand our education and outreach programs to reach more children in our school systems," she said. "The Synovus family continues to be a great supporter of symphonic music in Columbus, and we are proud to strengthen that relationship with this sponsorship."

Toast of the Town will feature food, wine, beer and spirits from our region and around the world. Meet the chefs, winemakers and brewmasters who will be on hand to share tastes and toasts with you.

The culinary journey continues with a silent auction filled with a variety of wines, trips and treasures for you to bid on.

Garden & Gun Chef's Tent returns to the gardens at RiverMill Event Centre and features The Lee Bros. out of Charleston, S.C. Guests can enjoy food prepared from the pages of chefs Matt and Ted Lee's cookbook, The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen.

As the annual fundraiser for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Toast of the Town supports guest artists, young musicians and educational programs throughout the year.

The event will allow the CSO to continue and grow The Orchestra Up Close program for preK through third grades; free and reduced price tickets to students and military, as well as free music education for adults through Know the Score and Symphony U.

Proceeds from this event will enable the CSO to expand its educational programs, making music accessible to all ages and economic groups.

The Garden & Gun Chef's Tent featuring The Lee Bros. is from 6 to 8 p.m. and is $150 per ticket, and the Grand Tasting event is from 7 to 11 p.m. and is $85 per person. Tickets and details are available at www.ToastColumbus.com or call 706-256-3640.
