Getting AMPed up!
Senior electrician Viswasankar Thambi, a contract employee from Kanyakumari, India, checks the control panel on a new 400-ampere generator test stand as he and other technicians ready it for use at the 3rd Battalion, 401st Army Field Support Brigade's Fuel and Electric Shop, Aug. 20, 2008, at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The new stand will allow testing of automotive alternators, generators, regulators and starters under full electrical load, ensuring they will hold up under combat conditions when installed in Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, Humvees and other vehicles being used by warfighters in Operation Enduring Freedom.
