January 9, 2014
Army Contracting Command-Warren, Mich., Soldiers recently participated in a team-building visit to Detroit's historic Fort Wayne.
Nestled in the southwest corner of Detroit, Fort Wayne is located along the Detroit River with a direct view of Canada to its east.
"It was a great opportunity to bring different contracting teams together to instill esprit de corps within our ranks," said Staff Sgt. Aaron Kopecky.
Team building participants included: (left to right) Staff Sergeants Cedric Belmont, Aaron Kopecky, Tyson Ornelas and Matthew Shults; Maj. Mike Stock, Staff Sgt. Michelle Royall, Captains Brian Johnson and Paul Garcia; Master Sgt. Mark Hirsch, Maj. Michelle Ramos, and Staff Sgt. Jacqueline Page.
During the walking tour, the group visited old barracks that housed Soldiers preparing for mobilization, sally port entrances, entry checkpoints and observation points. Also on the grounds are the Fort Wayne Military Museum, the Tuskegee Airmen Museum and an ancient burial mound.
