WASHINGTON (Jan. 8, 2014) -- Chief Petty Officer Kelly B. Jones, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager, received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his exceptional service from December 2010 to January 2014 at a ceremony held at Fort Lesley J. McNair.

Command Sgt. Maj. David O. Turnbull, JFHQ-NCR/MDW command sergeant major, presented the award on behalf of Maj. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, JFHQ-NCR/MDW commanding general. Jones was in charge of a campus-wide communications safety site project effort saving the command 160 thousand dollars in preparation for the upcoming 58th Presidential Inauguration.
