Service members, civilians, family members and contractors can dial 118 from a DSN phone, or 0808-555-118 from a commercial phone, at no charge, to get confidential help 24-hours a day. Callers are connected to a care center staffed by trained U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs employees with backgrounds in mental health services.
In addition to the hotline, individuals also have access to a live Internet-based chat service available at www.militarycrisisline.net.
