SCHWEINFURT, Germany (Dec. 26, 2013) -- Our Directorate of Public Works crews are dual-tasked to close this garrison down while still providing you top-notch service. And safety is our highest priority. So, as we empty and close out buildings on both Conn and Ledward Barracks, it's necessary that we block off roads adjacent to unused buildings.
Our DPW crews will not salt or clear these roads of ice and snow. This allows our DPW snow and removal teams to focus on priority roads, as well as prevent accidents on unused roads.
Our DPW crews have blocked selected roads in accordance with our Snow and Ice Removal Plan. These roads will remain blocked during the winter months and will not be accessible by vehicle. Pedestrians should be extremely cautious when transiting these unsalted roads. The following roads will be blocked:
LEDWARD BARRACKS:
• South of Bldgs. 234/212
• North of Bldgs. 231/233/234
• North of Bldg. 212
• Between Bldgs. 230/231
• Between Bldgs. 228/229
• East of Bldg. 205
• Between Bldgs. 203/204
CONN BARRACKS:
• Northern part of Sheridan Circle (Bldgs. 6/9A/9B/9C/10)
• Northern part of Grant Drive (Bldgs. 29/31)
• Access Road to West Gate (at dog run)
• Abrams Road (between wash rack and Bldgs. 1073/1172/1173/1174/1175/1176/1177/1178/1179)
The traffic rule governing one-way traffic in the western part of Murray Avenue (north of Bldgs. 207/208/209/210) on Ledward Barracks has been made two-way traffic, allowing accessibility to Bldg. 210 will still be accessible.
