Congratulations Chaplain (Col.) Gray!
Chaplain James "Dusty" Gray is assisted by placing his new rank of Colonel on his uniform by his wife, Sandra Gray, his uncle Bill Snell and his daughter Hannah during his promotion ceremony held at the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Memorial Chapel, Dec. 13.

(ARLINGTON, Va.) -- Chaplain James "Dusty" Gray was promoted to the rank of Colonel during a ceremony held at the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Memorial Chapel, Dec. 13.

Chaplain (Col.) Michael E. Brainerd, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region/U.S. Army Military District of Washington command chaplain and Maj. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, JFHQ-NCR/MDW commanding general spoke during the ceremony.

Gray graduated from the University of Alabama's Air Force ROTC program and was stationed at JFHQ-NCR/MDW prior to being deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2005. Following his deployment he returned to JFHQ-NCR/MDW where he continues to provide ministerial services to Arlington National Cemetery; incoming Wounded Warriors at Andrews Air Force Base and the MDW Army Air Operations Group. He also pastors the 7:45 a.m. congregation at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Memorial Chapel.
