FORT GORDON, Ga. - (Dec. 5, 2013) The season's sights and sounds included a Thursday traffic jam next to Barton Field, with hundreds of Christmas trees being distributed through the Trees for Troops program. Cars and trucks handled the hauling, with plenty of twine and creativity involved in the process. A concert and Santa visit took place that evening. The annual bonfire presented a challenge with the previous days of rainfall. Rain mostly dodged Fort Gordon that evening, and December chill was left for other parts of the country to handle. Hayrides, cookies, pizza and Christmas-style stockings (for kids to decorate) were part of Thursday evening's Christmas Festival hosted by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
