YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea -- Santa Claus came to town a bit early at Brian Allgood Community Hospital for a special brunch with local children, Dec 7.
BAACH provided refreshments for the attending families. A brass band performed classic Christmas tunes and a choir sang seasonal gospel songs for the audience.
The hospital dining facility was filled with people enjoying their Christmas brunch, when Santa arrived with his helpers.
The children posed for photos with Santa and told him what they wanted for Christmas, and the parents shared their excitement.
"I really enjoyed today's event. I hope to see some more of these events from now on," said Army spouse Whiney Farrell, who was surprised by the elaborate function. "I expected less, but it turned out to be a wonderful event. There's good food, good music and of course, Santa. My kids really seemed to enjoy this day and I also enjoyed it. I come around the hospital a lot, and I think this is one of the best events that the hospital has held for the community."
Near the end of the event, everyone was invited to decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles. There were crayons and paper for the kids to doodle and draw their holiday wishes. Volunteers were on site to paint children's faces with seasonal images.
Everyone may have come for the Christmas brunch and to see Santa, but they left with a heaping helping of Christmas spirit.
