FORT BENNING, Ga., (Dec. 11, 2013) -- Many Families took advantage of December's warm weather Thursday to participate in the annual Tower Lighting, hosted by the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

Events included children and adults riding the 34-foot towers, a military police working dog demonstrations, a visit from Santa Claus and the lighting of one of the 250-foot towers.

Pfc. Daniel Attaud, a parachute rigger for the battalion participated in the working dog demonstration, putting on a safety suit and letting a military police dog attack. He called the experience fun, but intense.

"I like that we are doing this (event) … it's fun that we get to do things like this and not just be all work and no play," he said, adding that it was important to share in the event with Families. "Who are we without our Families? They are our best supporters."
