Army Community Service's New Parent Support Program is offering community field trips to help military families become familiar with their new surroundings.

The New Parent Support community field trips provide families with children under the age of 5 the unique experience of transitioning from tourist to tenant through guided tours of selected Bavarian cities, attractions and neighborhoods.

Families will have the opportunity to network with other military families, become familiar with a new town, ask questions about life in Germany and have a little fun throughout the trip.

Becoming familiar with the local Bavarian community is an integral part of adjusting to life at an OCONUS duty station. Community field trips are an excellent way to begin this transition.

The next community field trip will take participants to the indoor swimming pool in Amberg, Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those wishing to attend should sign up in advance.

Families will meet at the Rose Barracks Commissary at 8 a.m. to head toward the Vilseck Train Station. For more information, contact Amanda Nelson at 09662-83-2650.
