JROTC students showcase skills in locally held drill meet

Members of the Buena High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, or JROTC, planned, conducted and participated in the 3rd annual Huachuca Challenge Drill Meet at Buena High School on Saturday. One hundred ninety-six cadets representing 13 Arizona high schools competed. The overall champions were Dobson High School out of Mesa, with Buena High School finishing in fourth place.

The Huachuca Challenge Drill Meet is the first one of the year for most schools. The drill teams get to come together and perform their exhibition and regulation drill sequences in a competitive environment under the watchful eye of local drill sergeants.
