• SAN ANTONIO - Command Sgt. Maj. Hu Rhodes joined his fellow senior enlisted leaders from throughout the various military commands in San Antonio Nov. 1 during the Senior Enlisted Appreciation Reception at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 76.  The reception, hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, kicked off the 43rd annual Celebrate America's Military, or CAM 2013. CAM started in 1970 as a way to recognize and honor military service members for their service to the nation.  Rhodes was one of the featured speakers of the event. He spoke about the role the American Noncommissioned Officer Corps has played in making the American military the best in the world. "I want to remind you the difference on the battlefield is the American NCO," he said. "Other services around the world produce an officer corps that is comparable to ours, but they haven't figured out how to empower their NCOs like we have. That makes all the difference." CAM 2013 events continue through Nov. 13. Rhodes is the senior enlisted leader for U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis.

Oilar is the senior enlisted leader for the 232nd Medical Battalion, 32nd Medical Brigade, U.S. Army Medical Command.
