CAMP HENRY, Republic of Korea -- The 403rd Army Field Support Brigade commander, Col. Jordan Chroman, and Command Sgt. Dexter Speights, recently welcomed three Korean University students who will be working for and learning from the brigade during a six-month internship lasting through the winter of 2014.
The Interns, who are either on their third or fourth year of college, applied through their respective universities to gain work experience and get a taste of American culture while receiving college credits.
The three Interns are Han, Yu Jung, who majors in business administration at Kyongbuk University and is assigned to the brigade's S-4 (Logistics) shop; Lee, Chang Gyu, who majors in Russian language at Daegu University, is assigned to the brigade's S-6 (Information Management), and Jeon, Il Gyu, who majors in international trade at Daegu University, is assigned to the S-8 (Resource Management).
Camp Henry is located in Daegu, which is the third largest metropolitan area in the country with a population of 2.5 million.
The 403rd AFSB is one of seven brigades in the Army Sustainment Command, headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill. ASC supports Army and joint forces in support of the combat commanders around the world.
Specifically, the 403rd AFSB delivers the Materiel Enterprise to supported forces throughout Korean and Japan theaters of operations. ME provides acquisition, logistics and technology-related sustainment support.
The 403rd AFSB actively participates in internships to foster a "good neighbor" relationship with the Korean community. Consequently, the internship experience will strengthen the student's occupational and language skills, and educate them and brigade personnel on the various aspects of both cultures.
