PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Soldiers and civilians said farewell to their Headquarters and Headquarters Company first sergeant Oct. 30.

1st Sgt. Joshua S. Ochs relinquished responsibility during a ceremony at the command's operations headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base.

During the ceremony, Ochs was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his service as the frist sergeant and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for his volunteer service in the Colorado Springs community.

Ochs served as the command's first sergeant from April 2011 to October 2013. His next assignment is with U.S. Central Command.
