4 USAG-Yongsan employees earn civilian of the year honors

<b>YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea</b> U.S. Forces Korea named four U.S. Army Garrison-Yongsan employees as 2008 USFK Civilian Employees of the Year.
The four were among 17 winners from military installations throughout Korea, according to a USFK announcement July 30.
USAG-Yongsan's winner are:
• <b>Manager of the Year</b>: Albert McFarland, supervisory funeral specialist, Directorate of Logistics. This is the second time McFarland has won this award.
• <b>Administrator of the Year</b>: Sonja Goodman, human resources specialist, Directorate of Human Resources
• <b>Technician of the Year</b>: Brad Bowling, fire protection specialist, Directorate of Emergency Services. Bowling was also the Department of the Army's runner-up civilian fire officer of the year for 2007.
• <b>Customer Service Employee of the Year (Korean national)</b>: Kim Kyong-sun, lead fire communication operator, DES.
The Special USFK Incentive Awards Review Committee reviewed 95 nominations representing civilian employees in all commands and other Department of Defense activities in Korea.
"We are very proud of our winners," said USAG-Yongsan Commander Col. Dave Hall. "Yongsan is an Army Communities of Excellence winner because of our people. They are committed to excellence and to creating a community dedicated to quality service."
The USFK Civilian Employees of the Year award ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 18 at Yongsan's Knight Field.
