BMC to host Retiree Appreciation Day, Oct. 25

The retired military community is invited to attend the Bavaria Military Community Retiree Appreciation Day, Oct. 25, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Tower Barracks, buildings 244 (administrative Services) and 475 (medical/dental services).

Meet other retirees from your area, make friends and share stories of living in Germany. The opening ceremony will take place in Building 244 from 9-10 a.m.

Additionally, the following medical services will be available from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. during the Retiree Appreciation Day Medical Fair:

-Immunizations: Tetanus, Shingles, Pneumovax and flu

-Blood pressure checks

-Blood sugar test (A1C)

-Diabetic foot screening

-Nutrition information

-Glasses ordering for prescriptions less than one year old

-Medication refill for prescriptions that are valid

-Some basic new prescriptions for acute issues, i.e. sinusitis, allergies (No new long-term medications)

-Basic eye exams with new glasses prescription. Follow-up appointments can be made for dilation.

-Dental services including exams, cleaning and oral cancer screenings

-A Tricare benefits advisor will be on site.
