NEW YORK - Military veterans and Soldiers gather at the "De Opresso Liber" statue at the World Trade Center site in New York City on Thursday, Sept. 12, to announce the "America's Parade" theme for the 2013 Veterans Day Parade. The parade, to be held here, honors all those who serve, and served, in the United States Armed Forces. The United War Veterans Council, the organizers of the "largest Veterans Day event in America," said the parade will be broadcast locally by FOX5 and on MyNetworkTV in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Orlando, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix and Los Angeles. The U.S. Army is the featured service in this year's 1.4 mile march up Fifth Avenue with retired Army Gen. Ann Dunwoody serving as the Grand Marshal. (U.S. Army photo by Master Sgt. Dean Welch)
