September 13, 2013
BAMBERG, Germany (Sept. 13, 2013) -- Bamberg Elementary School kindergarten student Paris Stupar has been named the first prize winner of the age 5 to 8 category in the Army and Air Force Exchange Service Cutest Kiddo (Coloring) Contest. Stupar was presented with a $500 Exchange gift card prize from Lt. Col. Michelle Bienias, garrison commander, Command Sgt. Maj. William Funcheon, garrison command sergeant major, and Bamberg Exchange manager Eileen Al-Sayed.
When asked what she would do with her prize money, the young winner considered her options carefully.
"I'm going to save it until I have more money," said Stupar. "Then, I'm going to spend it on lots of toys."
She also promised to buy at least one doll for her baby sister.
Through Aug. 9, Exchange patrons worldwide were invited to post photographs of their children holding a completed coloring page to the Exchange Facebook page for the contest.
A randomly chosen Grand Prize winner was awarded a seven-night resort stay and an $800 gift card. An additional $5,000 in gift cards has been divided among first-, second-, third- and fourth-place winners in each age category.
Winners were selected by an online poll, held Aug. 19 through 23, after the top 10 artists were selected by a panel of judges.
