Shortly after being nominated by President Bush as the first female four-star general, Lt. Gen. Ann Dunwoody, U.S. Army Materiel Command deputy commanding general, paid a visit to Letterkenny Army Depot, Pa.

Dunwoody received a depot overview presented by Col. Steven Shapiro, LEAD commander, before beginning a tour of the depot.

The tour included an overview of the depot's efforts to implement the Logistics Modernization Program by Chief of Staff Mark Sheffield and LMP's Program Manager Nadine Stoler; a visit to the HMMWV line where Dunwoody also witnessed the depot's machining capabilities; a tour of the missile maintenance facility; a tour of LEAD and BAE System's production facilities and the work on Force Provider; and a ride in a Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle.

Wrapping up the visit, Letterkenny Munitions Center Director Ed Averill presented a mission overview of the Munitions Center during a working lunch.
