SCHWEINFURT, Germany (Aug. 29, 2013) -- Licensed tattoo shops and those in Schweinfurt must follow strict guidelines aimed at protecting clients from serious diseases including HIV and hepatitis. Getting a tattoo at an unauthorized location such as someone's garage or barracks room is a bad idea. It puts that person at significant risk for infections that often times have no symptoms early on.

If you or someone you know has received an unauthorized tattoo, visit the U.S. Army Garrison Schweinfurt Health Clinic or call the public health nurse at 09721-96-1750 or DSN 354-1750 immediately. You'll receive an evaluation to determine whether you have been exposed to a serious illness, and the clinic will give you the quality care that you deserve.

Your safety and the safety of the entire community is the clinic's priority!
