McGregor Range, N.M. -- The 3rd Battalion, 364th Engineer Regiment, Task Force Rampant, 5th Armored Brigade, welcomed a new command sergeant major in an assumption of responsibility ceremony here July 18.

Command Sgt. Maj. Harold Reynolds assumed responsibility of the engineer regiment, which has the mission to train United States Army National Guard and Reserve units deploying to Afghanistan, Kuwait, and other contingency operations.

Reynolds addressed his new unit and promised to continue to uphold the high standards he has already witnessed within the battalion, known inside the brigade as Task Force Rampant.

"It's an honor to assume the duties as your command sergeant major," said Reynolds. "I understand the weighty responsibilities the office demands, and I will work tirelessly to support the outstanding NCOs and officers of our great task force."

Reynolds also acknowledged the presence of his wife, Ericca Reynolds, and thanked her for the support she has provided during 23 years of marriage. He added that military professionals face the challenge of maintaining balance in both work and Family and encouraged those in his formation to seek out challenging assignments while supporting those that in turn support them.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Aaron Dorf, TF Rampant commander, charged his new command sergeant major to "carry the mantle of TF Rampant and serve as the standard bearer for which others will follow."

The commander entrusted Reynolds with the care of all 3-364th Soldiers and provided his support in continuing the "world class training for which Rampant is known."

Dorf also acknowledged the work of the battalion's acting senior enlisted leader, Master Sgt. Warner Stadler.

"You ensured all those who were trained by this formation were better than when they arrived and undoubtedly saved many lives," said Dorf. "I simply cannot say enough about what Master Sgt. Stadler has meant to this command and to the individual Soldiers of TF Rampant."

Stadler served as TF Rampant's acting command sergeant major for three months and will remain with the task force until September when he will retire after 23 years of military service.

Reynolds joins the battalion after serving as the command sergeant major for 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
