FORT SILL, Okla. -- Operation Live Well Health Expo kicks off today at 9 a.m. at the Graham Resiliency Training Center and Rinehart Fitness Center on Fort Sill.

The expo launches a yearlong emphasis on healthier living, better nutrition, increased physical activity and eliminating negative lifestyle habits, such as tobacco use, obesity and inactivity.

Operation Live Well is part of the Healthy Base Initiative launched by the Department of Defense this spring. Fort Sill was chosen as one of two Army installations out of 13 U.S. military installations selected for the program.

The expo is a coordinated plan to use the facilities and resources the post already has to address these health issues, rather than create new programs.
