Indiana Welcomes Vibrant Response participants

CAMP ATTERBURY, Ind. -U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), U.S. Northern Command's Joint Force Land Component Command, is working with the Indiana National Guard to receive approximately 5,000 military and civilian people from across the country who will participate in this year's Vibrant Response exercise scheduled for July 30 -- Aug. 17.

Vibrant Response is an annual training event that uses large-scale scenarios to assist units in their efforts to respond to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear incidents within the United States and is the country's largest exercise of this nature.

Participants in this year's training event have traveled far and near to participate in the training events, representing 27 states and territories. The 103rd Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Team, Fort Richardson, Alaska and 31st Chemical Brigade, Alabama National Guard, the 181st Intelligence Wing, Indiana Air National Guard are some of the many units already on station taking part in this year's training.

For many of the units, this training will provide them the opportunity to complete their medical and deployment readiness for the upcoming fiscal year. As of July 29 about 1,000 of the expected 5,000 have arrived received their initial briefings and are ready to conduct training.

This training will serve as the validation for units assuming the nations CBRN Response Enterprise mission.
