FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (July 17, 2013) -- A change-of-commandancy ceremony for the United States Army Engineer School and Regiment is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 30 on the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Plaza.

Maj. Gen. Leslie Smith, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general, is scheduled to preside over the ceremony where Brig. Gen. Peter DeLuca will transfer command responsibilities for the Engineer Regiment to Brig. Gen. Anthony Funkhouser.

An award ceremony to honor DeLuca's service to the nation and the Army is scheduled to take place at 8:30 a.m. on the MSCoE Plaza.

DeLuca will move on to Vicksburg, Miss., as U.S. Army Engineer Division, Mississippi Valley, commanding general.

Funkhouser joins Fort Leonard Wood from Portland, Ore., where he most recently served as U.S. Army Engineer Division, Northwestern, commanding general.
