  • FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas - Command Sgt. Maj. Hu Rhodes, Tres Kleburg and Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV meet with Spc. Matthew Spang following a purple heart ceremony July 1 at the Warrior and Family Support Center Purple Heart Courtyard. During the ceremony, Spang was presented two Purple Hearts for separate injuries while serving in combat. Caldwell is the commanding general U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and senior commander Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis. Rhodes is his senior enlisted advisor. Kleburg is a civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army, and Spang served as a combat engineer with the 95th Engineer Company, 65th Engineer Battalion, 130th Engineer Brigade.
