REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- A long-time U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command employee decided it was time to retire from civilian service.

Thaddus Small, Information Assurance program manager, G-6, retired among family, friends, and co-workers June 20 at the command's Redstone Arsenal headquarters.

During the ceremony, Small received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, a certificate of appreciation, an American flag, and a certificate of retirement and pin. Small retires with 27 years of civilian service, which succeeded a 30-year career in the Air Force.
