FORT KNOX, Ky., --During a change of responsibility ceremony at Fort Knox, Ky., June 12, Command Sgt. Maj. Willie C. Clemmons became the 18th command sergeant major of Army Recruiting Command.
Upon taking charge, Clemmons welcomed the challenge to serve as the senior noncommissioned officer for USAREC.
"The mission of our organization is and always will be of great importance," said Clemmons. "When tasked to provide the strength of the Army, that privilege alone is humbling. Words cannot describe the excitement I feel as a member of this world class organization."
Clemmons entered the Army in 1984 and has an extensive background with the Army both in the United States and abroad, which includes combat operations in Somalia and Iraq and numerous assignments throughout Europe, Panama and in the U.S. Prior to USAREC, he served as the CSM for the White House communications agency.
Clemmons and his wife Tangelyn have one child, Joshua.
