PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Col. James R. Meisinger (center left), commander of the 1st Space Brigade, passes the colors of the 1st Space Battalion to Lt. Col. Richard L. Zellmann (center right) charging him with the responsibilities of the battalion during a Change of Command at Patriot Park, Peterson Air Force Base, June 7. Ebrecht Jr. The 1st Space Battalion plans, coordinates, and integrates space support to the Warfighter. The battalion has had a continual presence in the Central Command area of operations with Army Space Support Teams and Commercial Imagery Teams. They also maintain a ready team for contingency operations worldwide. The battalion is on point 24 hours a day for missile warning. Their motto is 'Army Space -- Army Strong!'
