Women's Equality Day and Voter Campaign

USAG Ansbach's Equal Opportunity Adviser's office is hosting a voting campaign throughout the month of August, culminating Aug. 26 with a voter registration day and the Women's Equality Day Observance, celebrating the 19th Amendment. All unregistered women voters (and unregistered men) are welcome to register at various locations such as the PX, Commissary (Urlas), and the Storck Community Activity Center. New garrison website

Events calendar

USAG Ansbach has a new location for looking up what events are happening when. The "Events Calendar" at the official garrison website is the hub for finding out about MWR and ACS events, school events, sporting activities, German community events and more. Illesheim Outreach-KONTAKT club

Flu immunization

Strike Zone hours

TRX/HIIT

At Katterbach Physical Fitness Center, Super Circuit with Kate Fridays at 9 a.m. is being replaced with TRX/HIIT with Kate. The new class is geared toward intermediate fitness level participants with some TRX experience. The class combines TRX workouts with bursts of high-intensity cardio. Classes will be held at the TRX frame in front of the Katterbach PFC. Participants should dress according to the weather and the outdoors. The standard $4 class price applies. Golf team

The U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Community Golf Team has been newly formed. Team membership is open to both men and women ID card holders 18 years and older and out of high school. Prospective members should have a handicap of 24 or lower. To learn more, call 09802-83-2085 or DSN 467-2085.

Family child care provider orientations

Tumbling class

Child, Youth and School Services' SKIES Unlimited program hosts tumbling classes at the Storck Community Activity Center Wednesdays. Toddler network

Army Community Service hosts the Toddler Network the first and third Wednesday of each month from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Storck ACS. This is a chance for parents to gain support and understanding of parenting toddlers. Registration is required. Wiggles, giggles playgroup

New Wiggles and Giggles Playgroup at Bleidorn

In addition to the Wiggles and Giggles Playgroup currently offered through Army Community Service, Bleidorn Library is set to start hosting a Wiggles and Giggles Playgroup, which starts Aug. 5 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and is scheduled to continue each Tuesday at the same time thereafter. Babysitting training

Child, Youth and School Services hosts babysitting training at no cost to youths 13 and older. Participants must attend all sessons and complete a babysitter application to be certified. CPR and first aid training need to be updated annually. Registered participants will be notified of the class start date. Storck Parent Central Services move

Storck Barracks Child, Youth and School Services' Parent Central Services has moved from Bldg. 6510 to Bldg. 6706. Parent Central is now co-located with the School Age Center. Story Time

Scream-free

The Army Community Center hosts Scream-free parenting and marriage classes. Scream-free marriage classes are held Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Storck YRR September. Scream-free parenting is held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. now through September Tuesdays at Katterbach Dining Facility and Wednesdays at Storck Community Activity Center. FRG Child Care Night

REMINDERS

ASCC Thrift Store

If looking for reasonably priced, used items or a good place to sell things no longer needed, visit the Thrift Store of the Ansbach Spouses' and Civilians' Club at Katterbach Kaserne (across from the Shoppette). ISCC Thrift Shop hours

The Illesheim Spouses' and Civilians' Club Thrift Shop has new hours. The shop will be open Tuesdays from noon to 6 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from noon to 3 p.m.

Car washing

It is not allowed to wash or perform maintenance on personally owned or government or military vehicles in housing areas, near garages, on the street or in parking areas. The garrison has wash racks for the purpose of cleaning vehicles. Wash rack locations include at Barton Barracks near Bldg. 5258 for government vehicles, At Katterbach Kaserne near Bldg. 5836 for military vehicles during the duty and POVs after duty hours, at Storck Barracks near Bldg. 6640 for POVs, at Urlas Housing at Bldg. 8130 for POVS and off post at any gas station or car wash station for POVs. Anti-terrorism awareness

You can report suspicious activity online at www.eur.army.mil/eureport. If you witness a crime in progress or feel in imminent danger, call the military police at 09802-83-114, 09841-83-114 or DSN 114 or host nation law enforcement at 110.

Learn German

Sign up for a six-week German class to learn basic and conversational German. Classes are in Katterbach Kaserne and Storck Barracks. Registration is required. New barber shop

A new barber shop has opened at Katterbach Kaserne in Bldg. 5817 next to the post office and the launderette. Its operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. It will be open U.S. holidays but closed on German holidays.

Storck Library matinee

Storck Library holds a Friday matinee the first Friday of the month at 3 p.m. Visit the Storck Library at Storck Barracks, Bldg. 6503, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 09841-83-4675 or DSN 467-4675.

Storck Warrior Zone hours

Please remember that effective now, the Warrior Zone at Storck Barracks will be in operation with new opening hours. The Warrior Zone will be closed Mondays through Thursdays and be open from 5 p.m. to midnight Fridays, from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturdays and from 2 to 9 p.m. Sundays. ESL

English as a second language classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. at the Katterbach Army Community Service. Wall Street Survivor

Army Community Service hosts Wall Street Survivor, a virtual stock market game that will help players invest confidently. The game is held the second Thursday of the month at Storck YRR. Terrace Playhouse tickets

Brown Bag Lunch

Katterbach Clinic online

Katterbach Clinic is now online. Now you can email a doctor or nurse, request an appointment, request medication refills and obtain lab results. To get started, just give your email address to a member of the clinic's staff.

Be designated

Being a designated driver has its benefits. At Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation events, let the FMWR staff know you are a designated driver, receive a wristband and enjoy coffee or sodas on the house.

Ansbach guided tours

Tour Ansbach with a guide every Sunday at 11 a.m. for 3 euros per person. The group meets at the Schlossplatz near the horse sculpture "Anscavallo." English-language tours are by reservation only and must be booked with the Ansbach Tourism Office two weeks in advance. The group rate is 80 euros per group with a maximum of 35 people. Stress, anger management

Army Community Service at USAG Ansbach holds a stress and anger management class. Eagle's Nest

The Barton Barracks "Eagle's Nest," located next to Duggan Gym, offers a full working kitchen with an area to seat more than 30 people. The Eagle's Nest is open to all community members. Safety hazard

Between Ansbach and Illesheim, there is a safety hazard on B-13. North of Oberdachstetten there is a steep decline that goes under a railroad overpass. One lane of traffic goes down the hill and two lanes go up. Do not pass.

Storck Chapel schedule
