Director's Updates

Director's Update, 14 November 2000

We have completed staffing of Army Development System XXI final recommendations with all Key Army Stakeholders. We are recommending a total of 58 changes that will modernize personnel business practices; align warrant officer inventory and structure; and provide agility and versatility to enlisted personnel management system. Additionally, we have conducted crosswalk with other key Army studies, and find ADS XXI recommendations to be consistent or complementary.

A pre-briefing is scheduled for the VCSA on 20 November. No firm date, however, has been set for the final decision briefing to the CSA. The TF is ready to brief now; and we anticipate that calendar time with the CSA will become available to us in the next few weeks.

We are also scheduled to present a ‘pre-decisional overview’ of ADS XXI recommendations to the Personnel Proponency Action Officer Workshop (PPAOW) at Fort Belvoir on 6 December. The version of the briefing to be used at this workshop is posted to our website.  To view the pre-decisional overview click on the PPAOW. We will continue to provide the most recent version of briefings and other updates as they occur.

We anticipate that action to implement policy changes to support approved ADS XXI recommendations will begin as soon as appropriate decisions have been made. These actions will also be coordinated and posted to our website. If there are any questions, request action officers contact either LTC Schoffstall or me.

Our metric for success remains, "good for the soldier, the Army and the Nation". We are firmly committed to maintain and enhance our premier enlisted and warrant officer forces.
