Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall personnel gathered in the ballroom of the Spates Community Club July 27 for a town hall meeting on the roll out and overview of the Installation Management Command's campaign plan and six Lines of Effort (LOEs). The campaign plan is an initiative of Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch, IMCOM commander, to focus on readiness, well being, leader and workforce development, installation readiness, safety and energy efficiency and security.
This campaign plan provides the foundation and road map for each Soldier, Family and civilian to understand their role in supporting the warrior now and in the future.
As personnel arrived at the meeting, they received laminated cards that outlined the six LOEs, which include: Soldier, Family and Civilian Readiness, Soldier, Family and Civilian Well Being, Leader and Workforce Development, Installation Readiness, Safety and Energy Efficiency and Security
The priorities accompany the IMCOM campaign plan which provides Soldiers, Families and civilians the help they need to maintain readiness, wellness and resilience in this period of persistent conflict.
Assisted with a slide show, Coffman went through each of the LOEs, elaborating on the content.
He supplemented this with anecdotes from his own experience and discussed the importance of each, and the responsibility personnel hold in maintaining each LOE.
Coffman identified areas that would take longer than others. He stressed the importance of patience and installation readiness.
The importance of safety while carrying out the duties of the LOEs was highlighted in Coffman's guidance to personnel.
Coffman's speech struck an inclusive tone. ''You work for the Army," he said. ''I work for the Army, just in a different uniform." In saying this, Coffman wanted to show civilian personnel that the campaign plan was not only for Soldiers and military Families, it included them as well.
Along with working to keep readiness, well being and safety on base, Coffman also wanted to let personnel know about the importance of financial readiness.
It is important for JBM-HH to be a good steward of the money supplied by IMCOM, so that it can better support Soldiers and their Families.
Above all, Coffman wants personnel to contribute ideas to improve the IMCOM Campaign Plan and make the base more efficient.
''I need you guys to figure out creative ways to make it [the plan] better," he said. Quoting from IMCOM commander, Lt. Gen. Lynch, everyone on JBM-HH should ask themselves: ''Are we doing the right things' Are we doing things right' What are we missing'" All ideas should be sent to Donna Maxey at donna.maxey@us.army.mil.
