$1 airfare available to Soldiers flying from select airports

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Sometimes it's not so easy to find a great deal.

The Army's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command is updating its Web site, www.ArmyMWR.com, to make navigation easier for the end user-the millions of eligible patrons worldwide who use morale, welfare and recreation services.

The command is also constantly entering into agreements and partnerships with a variety of businesses to provide our Soldiers and Families "the opportunity for a quality of life commensurate with their service...."

Which means if you're not a good surfer, you might miss some great deals.

For example, right now through midnight MT on Thursday, May 7, active-duty servicemembers on leave can fly for $1 on Jet Blue to any non-stop destination JetBlue serves from the Dulles and Richmond airports. JetBlue has also pledged to donate $15,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Restrictions apply, of course, and the Soldier must present a valid common access card and leave orders when they pick up the ticket. Details are available by calling 1-800-JETBLUE or by visiting www.jetblue.com/military.

Beginning soon, FMWRC will offer a sweepstakes with a seven-day free stay at any Marriott Caribbean destination, through a partnership designed to promote Marriott's "you pay what we pay" discount offer to Soldiers and families. Details for that will be posted on the promotions page and news pages in the next few days.

And 365 days a year there are various vacation packages, hotel deals, and specials on the home, news, events, travel, promotion and recreation and leisure pages on www.armymwr.com.

The only way to learn more is to surf on FMWRC's website.

In the coming weeks, the site will migrate completely from the old servers to the new, and navigation should improve greatly. Until then don't be discouraged by a "this site/page is moving" link. Click on the link to be redirected to the new page, and surf your way to some great deals.
